Dare you enter the haunted castle and join us for our Spooky Spectacular event this Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November. With spooky potion making, pumpkin Chinese lantern making, witch and wizard hat making and two spooky trails there is something for everyone to enjoy.
Lots of Teddies have been enjoying their picnics today at Bolton Castle. Come along and have a go at teddy crafts and games. Children with Teddies get in free. Mon 5th Aug – Fri 9th Aug and Mon 12th Aug – Fri 16th Aug.

Travel back in time over 600 years and discover all about military life in the early 1300s. With displays of arms, archery competitions, arming a knight demonstrations you will learn all about medieval weaponry and armour before experiencing the excitement and drama of a full foot tournament.

Discover what people did for fun in the Middle Ages. Dress up in authentic costume and have a go at our medieval crafts, toys, games and more.

With spooky activities, trails and games for children of all ages to enjoy including pumpkin skittles, potion making, witch and wizard hat making, mask making, spooky dancing and more!

15th Century Life Weekend
Meet characters from the 15th Century Castle household and join in their daily activities including cookery, spear drilling, archery and calligraphy as well as trying some traditional crafts. Fun for all the family.
Join Sir John Savile’s Household as Bolton Castle is brought to life with the sights and sounds of the fifteenth century. Visit the kitchens where authentic medieval recipes will be prepared and meet the men-at-arms and archers of the castle garrison and learn how to drill as a medieval soldier. As you investigate the rooms of the castle, step back over 500 years in history as our craftsmen and women recreate scenes from the Wars of the Roses and even learn how to dance to medieval music! A great day out for all of the family with much to see and do for both young and old!
