The Castle runs a number of 'Living History' events during the year. Schools are invited to participate. Caligraphy, candle dipping and military training are popular with our youger customers.
There are a number of SSSI's associated with the castle from Moorland to un-managed natural woodland, with some of the finest wild flower meadows in Europe. Access is encouraged and guides can be arranged.
Prices for school visits: Castle £3.00 per pupil or student - One free adult per 10 children
Guided walks £40.00 per half day regardless of numbers. Camp sites can be arranged on request.
