Our newest arrivals at Bolton are a small flock of five Wensleydale sheep. We expect their lambs to be born in the spring so keep an eye on our website for news of their arrival!

Meet characters from the 15th Century Castle household and join in their daily activities including cookery, spear drilling, archery and calligraphy as well as trying some traditional crafts. Fun for all the family.

Saville Household

Join Sir John Savile’s Household as Bolton Castle is brought to life with the sights and sounds of the fifteenth century. Visit the kitchens where authentic medieval recipes will be prepared and meet the men-at-arms and archers of the castle garrison and learn how to drill as a medieval soldier. As you investigate the rooms of the castle, step back over 500 years in history as our craftsmen and women recreate scenes from the Wars of the Roses and even learn how to dance to medieval music! A great day out for all of the family with much to see and do for both young and old!
