Bolton Castle has been used as a film location for 'Ivanhoe', 'Queen Elizabeth',in 'Heartbeat' and 'All Things Great and Small'.

'James Burke', 'Kate Willoughby' and 'Brian McNally', following filming for an episode of

'James Burke's Connections'.

North Country Theatre's Northanger Abbey                                                     Living History Production

Opera North have performed here, as have a number of other amateur and professional vocal and music groups.

'North Country Theatre',' Illyria' and 'English Playtour' have staged productions here, both in The Great Chamber and as 'Promenade Theatre'. We have the benefit of having an in door alternative!
